02 / Route

Follow the path in order

  1. 01

    Use main quests for reliable XP

    Main quests offer dependable progress and unlock regions, vendors and skill opportunities. They are usually the safest route when side content becomes over-leveled.

  2. 02

    Play contracts near your level

    A contract close to your current level gives useful XP and bestiary experience. Waiting until it is trivial reduces its value.

  3. 03

    Collect Places of Power

    These provide extra skill points and encourage exploration. Sweep nearby points while working through a region instead of making a separate trip later.

  4. 04

    Convert levels into a build

    A level is only useful if the resulting point improves the combat problem you are solving. Avoid scattering points across every tree.

  5. 05

    Fill gaps with discoveries

    When the next main quest is too high, clear local discoveries, monster nests and level-appropriate side quests before returning to the critical path.

03 / Common mistakes

Avoid the expensive reset

Do not chase enemies far above your level for XP; the resource cost is usually worse than the reward.

A higher-level character with a fragmented build can feel weaker than a lower-level character with a clear plan.

After a Remastered upgrade, remember that old skill points are reset and need to be redistributed.
